MAKING TRACKS WITH SERENA - KENYA TANZANIA CIRCUIT

DAY 1: NAIROBI – Nairobi Serena Hotel
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by AFRICAN CLASSIC ESCAPES representative and transferred to Nairobi Serena Hotel.

DAY 2: Nairobi Excursions
This morning drive to Daphne Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage at the edge of Nairobi National Park, which is a nursery and rehab center for infant elephants that have lost their families as well as rhino and occasionally zebras and other wildlife. 
Proceed for lunch at Blixen’s Cottages (pay direct) and later visit Karen Blixen Museum which preserves the lifestyle of Karen Blixen famous for the movie ‘‘Out of Africa’’
Continue to the AFEW Giraffe Center near Giraffe Manor where you may hand-feed the Rothschild giraffe that live here. The giraffe were brought here by Jock and Betty Leslie-Melville, who founded AFEW (African Fund for Endangered Wildlife) and built the Nature Center to help educate young African children about wildlife conservation.

Return to Nairobi Serena for your overnight on Bed and Breakfast basis

Day 3 – MAASAI MARA - Mara Serena Lodge
Your comfortable 4 x4 cruiser now takes you to the Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserve. Enjoy a game drive en route to Mara Serena Lodge, a lodge that has been styled to mirror the circular motif of a traditional Maasai Manyatta village of domed huts. Proceed for an afternoon game drive and later on return to your lodge for overnight.

Day 4 – MAASAI MARA - Mara Serena Lodge
You will have morning and afternoon game drives, possibly taking a picnic lunch in the reserve. Optional activities abound while you’re in the Maasai Mara.
You can try a balloon safari for an exhilarating experience over the savannah as the early sun rises and the animals are more active. If you wish, for a nominal fee, you can also visit a Maasai Village to experience this nomadic tribe’s way of life and see their colorful culture.

DAY 5/6: SERENGETI – Kirawira Camp
This morning you will be dropped at the Isbania border where our sister company will drive you to Kirawira Camp in the Serengeti. The camp is set close to the Grumeti River, famed for its giant crocodiles, perched on a hill with uninterrupted views of the plains of the Western Serengeti.
Your 3 days accommodation will be in deluxe individual tents set on wooden platforms. Each has a spacious double bedroom and bathroom, styled from the Victorian period with African art, and a private verandah from which there are spectacular views over the endless Serengeti.

DAY 7: SERENGETI – Serengeti Serena Lodge
This morning you will proceed on to Serengeti Serena Lodge with a game drive en route. Arr morning stop at Olduvai Gorge to learn aboive in time for lunch and later on in the afternoon you will have a game viewing drive in the flat open plains of the Serengeti ideal for cheetahs to hunt, and if you are lucky, you might witness the speed of this graceful cat.

DAY 8/9: NGORONGORO – Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge
Drive to Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge a triumph of ecological and architectural fusion, perched on the jagged rim of the crater, wreathed in morning mist, camouflaged in river-stone and cloaked in indigenous creepers.
Activities include; morning wildlife walks around the lodge with our resident naturalist, an open-air 'Crater Barbecue Lunch' by a hippo-filled pool on the Crater's floor, an action-packed selection of adventure hikes around the Ngorongoro Crater and the volcanoes of the nearby Crater Highlands, authentic displays of Maasai dance, song, performance and music.

Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge (B/L/D)

DAY 10: Departure
Today you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight back home/take an optional Zanzibar extension.
